Beat it on down the line

Good evening! And --- good night!! For this is the final post we will ever make.
Not really a lot of explanation needed here. As will have been evident to anybody who keeps up with us, as time has gone by we've collectively found it an increasing struggle to devote the kind of energy and attention to scanlation which we were able to bring in our earlier days. Having, therefore, had a serious discussion amongst ourselves as to whether our current quantities of free time and enthusiasm are still sufficient to make us the appropriate custodians of the stories we cover, we arrived at the unanimous conclusion that acmedan has come naturally to the end of its life, and the appropriate thing to do is to close the group down and give it a dignified farewell.

A decision taken with heavy hearts, naturally; but we feel the group's demise, while sad, is not untimely -- we have stood long enough at the post of honour, and seen ourselves turn gradually but inexorably from a group which put out new content every week (a bizarre fantasy, considered here at such a far remove) to the kind of slow-moving, title-grabbing operation we were railing against when we coalesced out of the homo threads in the first place. We're all not quite the people we were at the beginning -- common themes between us, regrettably, are increased real-life business and duties, and perhaps the kind of weariness with the material that follows unavoidably from considering it as a burden to be undertaken instead of a finished product to be enjoyed. There's a life cycle to these things, perhaps.

So this is the end, we're done, there'll be no more releases -- we can be formally and for all time marked as "inactive" on MangaUpdates (if we're not already!). We retire quietly, and hope we were able to carry out some decent work over the years. We remain content, at any rate, to have never taken donations nor to have ever demanded secret loyalty oaths from our readers. And we apologise profusely to the original authors for our prolonged travesties of their stories. If you've enjoyed anything at all we've worked on, please do consider helping the creators out by purchasing their works: all of the titles we worked on should be available at highly reasonable prices from the usual outlets, and constitute handsome items even in their raw unintelligible state.

Finally, to make a short personal comment: having been the leader of this group throughout its final years, I'd like to tender the warmest possible thanks to ac and KG, in whose footsteps I have so ineptly followed.

KG would like to add here: "I never got to fulfilling my lifelong goal of seeing anyone fuck in Yozora." A sentiment no doubt many of us will agree with.

The future of our titles

A couple of our members are going to continue elsewhere with Stay Gold, and we'll add a link to the new chapter once it's finished being scanlated. As for everything else (including, for emphasis, all the Nojikos), we bequeath them like the dying Alexander bequeathed his conquests, τῷ κρατίστῳ -- that is to say, we have absolutely no opinions whatsoever. We wish all good success to our successors in these titles! Unfortunately we have no scans to give out so those will need to be sourced elsewhere.

And that's it! Goodbye! It's been fun.

Good evening!

Big bunch of stuff tonight, you lucky people. First we continue on the recent Hideyoshico theme with the covers and extra content for Volumes 1 and 2 of Stay Gold. To recap: Volume 1 was originally published back in classical antiquity (2014) by Gateau. The story then disappeared for a while until, under circumstances which remain highly opaque to us, it was transferred to OnBlue and new chapters started appearing there. Volume 2 came out, published by OnBlue, earlier this year, and they very obligingly decided to reissue Volume 1 at the same time, with a nice new cover to match Volume 2's. We have them both here, of course.

OnBlue's Volume 1 also includes some re-issued Udagawachou content which first appeared in OnBlue magazine --and was duly scanlated by us, inter alia-- in 2015. Fairly unaccountable that it should reappear here but, as the stories share a publisher, it makes sense from that perspective, and certainly it appearing in a volume gives it a more permanent home than it just disappearing obscurely in a magazine. If you're a real Hideyoshico head you'll have seen this stuff already but we include it here for completeness.

As a final note, these covers feature very handsome shiny gold text which, regrettably, is turned into an unpleasant murky brown colour in being scanned. Obviously we always exhort you to Support The Artists and buy all this stuff in the original but these books in particular are really nice in-person.

Stay Gold - Volume 1 - Extras

Stay Gold - Volume 2 - Extras

And in case you were worried we'd forgotten that artists other than Hideyoshico exist, we return to draw from our earliest well of them all with the long-awaited(?) next chapter of Endou-kun no Jikken Note, drawn, of course, by the radiant Hayakawa Nojiko. This story is out now in volume form as well, in fact -- and like Stay Gold it appears as a pair of books. This chapter here takes us to the end of the Volume 1 content, so next up in terms of Endou will be the extra content from the book, and then we'll get onto the Volume 2 chapters. But for now:

Endou-kun no Jikken Note - Chapter 7

Which takes us to the end of the post -- until next time, keep on keepin' on~

( ਊ )

Good evening!

Tonight on... Endou-kun no Jikken Note... Endou continues to grapple with the news that Cheryl was having an affair with Gustav behind his back and now wants a divorce. Meanwhile Tsuda struggles to obtain fire insurance for the haunted mansion he inherited from his aunt, and Kanzaki's attempt to join the Coast Guard Reserve gets off to a rocky start Endou contemplates his terrifying post-high-school future, Tsuda does what he can to help, and a shocking twist occurs (and there's an interesting echo of the recent Stay Gold chapters). So put your coat and your shoes on, take a walk down to the manga rental shop and ask if they have a copy of:

Endou-kun no Jikken Note - Chapter 6

And here ends the post -- see you all again soon~!

8=D~

Good evening!

So our declaration that we were making some dynamic, thrusting return might perhaps have been somewhat premature, as evinced by the eight weeks(!) between this post and the one below -- almost immediately after the last release we were sidetracked utterly by the advent of Yuri on Ice: realising at once that this show is the real hot shit of the autumn, we resolved to quit scanlation and instead collectively write a BL scanlation-themed Yuri on Ice AU fanfic. Unfortunately, despite our very considerable travail, the finished work was described as, variously, "incoherent", "barely literate" and "filled with... pedantic detail no human could conceivably find any interest in" -- and so with much sadness we voted to abandon the literary world and go back to our roots. Which is a fictional way of saying that, despite our fine intentions, our ship bearing timely releases of everybody's favourite titles found itself dashed on the rocks and reefs of real-life vicissitudes and obligations. But rest assured we're still here and there'll be more stuff to come this month (and indeed in subsequent months). Of course we offer our apologies in luxuriant profusion for our recent slowness.

Anyway tonight we reunite with some long-absent friends: we have for you all chapter the fifth of The Adventures of Clock Boy and Watch Man -- this time the guys have a little heart-to-heart and Tomohisa sees how far his negotiating skills can take him. So please have your coupons ready for:

Suna wo Kizamu Hari - Chapter 5

And that's of course all for now -- until we meet again~~

PS through my own singular personal fault there's a big backlog of emails once again, I swear by the Holy God I'll deal with it all this weekend, for real.

)))))

Good evening!

More Nojiko, as promised -- but first, a corrigendum of the utmost importance. The lifers among you will no doubt remember Chapter 3 of Kurayami ni Strobe, where Glasses ("Sawa" to his friends) displayed a startling penchant for homophobia, declaring, as he passed Arata, "gays are disgusting."

.........Or did he? Come, walk with us a little. Our own Maria was recently revisiting the original work when she noticed something unusual about that particular moment. Compare our version with the raw page:

As you can see, we typeset those infamous words in the same typeface we used for the speech-bubble dialogue on the page, obviously creating the implication that they were actually spoken by Sawa. But if you look at the raws, you can see that the words are in a different typeface to the speech bubbles higher up the page -- and it's a sort of weak, hand-drawn font of the sort used to indicate thoughts, asides, etc. So it is very likely that we, via some very careless font selection, created something that wasn't Nojiko's intention: it seems that those words were meant to be Arata's imagination (either him picturing Sawa saying something like that, or flashing back to his getting bullied), rather than actual spoken dialogue by Sawa. So we have very possibly committed a grotesque defamation, by suggesting that Sawa is a giant 'phobe when he probably (...hopefully) isn't, and we would like to plead guilty at the first available opportunity. We hope this makes it a little easier for all of you to imagine Sawa as a homosexual leading man, seeing as that's where this story is probably going. The person responsible for this erroneous typesetting was, uh, myself, so rest assured I will give myself a stern reprimand as soon as I finish this post.

ANYWAY, that said, here's the release. Short little chapter but it's cute enough, hopefully. Enjoy~

Utsusemi ni Akari - Chapter 1.5

And that's all for this post -- catch you on the flip-side, dudemeisters!!

PS The author's note for this chapter seems to indicate that Mme. Hayakawa is of insufficient means to afford air-conditioning -- maybe try to put one of her volumes on your list for Santa this year?

:$

Good evening!

Time tonight for some more Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Yoake -- we take a little diversion from the story and find ourselves not at chapter 7, but all the way back at chapter 0.5. This is, by way of reassurance, the order in which this was published -- that this chapter is fairly inconsequential and all of twelve pages long suggests it was perhaps something in the way of a contractual obligation. But still, it's very cute and -- no doubt more importantly to some -- it features the long-awaited return of Crying Glasses Man (...sort of). So let's get in the car and drive across to:

Yoake ni Furu - Chapter 0.5

And that's all for now! We'd like to extend a happy Fourth of July to our American friends and we hope to see you all again soon -- take care~

Good evening!

And we're back! Apologies for our recent lack-of-releases-ness lately but unfortunately a lot of our personnel have been caught up with studying for finals, recovering from having been studying for finals etc -- it's that time of the year, regrettably But we're --hopefully-- managing now to begin limbering up again, and we'll see how things get on. Anyway for tonight, here please is Endou-kun, Chapter 5. Here we find Tsuda and Older Tsuda still at odds, Endou remains the same as ever, and we find Kanzaki in a more philosophic mood than usual. So everybody please open wide for:

Endou-kun no Jikken Note - Chapter 5

And that's all for now, hope we meet again soon!

:]

Good evening!

Back again already, by God. Anyway tonight we've got the (slightly) less lengthily-awaited next chapter of Yoake ni Furu, wherein Shouta, probably to nobody's surprise, continues to make Daiki very frustrated. This chapter is a little shorter than normal, page-wise, but in terms of text it's extra-ordinarily dense: the script for this one ran about 20% longer than that of an average 32-page Nojiko. No real reason for telling you this, but seeing as we're all here. Anyway,

Yoake ni Furu - Chapter 6

That's all we've got for now, but if you're a person who enjoys looking at scanlations on the internet we would strongly exhort you to check out chiefcough.blogspot.co.uk, which is run entirely by our good friend Lenny. She's currently working through Shiota-sensei to Amai-chan, a very charming little shoujo story by Nakatoka Kumiko.

See you all again soon~!

~(=^–^)

Good evening!

Time for a story we haven't seen in a little while: S-S-S-Suna wo Kizamu Hari! But here at last is the new chapter, so we can all put on our coats and scarves and go pay a respectful visit to Watch Man and Clock Boy. Anyway this chapter starts right one where the last one ended so uh, might be advisable to re-acquaint yourself with that one first. But this chapter gets us right back into the action: the dudes share a romantic(?) McDonalds, Tomohisa introspects heavily, and Nojiko continues to demonstrate her talent for well-observed feelings and conversations. So let's get on down to:

Suna wo Kizamu Hari - Chapter 4

And that's all for now - take care, until we meet again~

<(._.)>

Good evening!

More Endou-kun tonight!! We're all too exhausted by our marathon Valentine's Day love-making sessions with our respective partners (all very handsome men with great teeth) to write much of a post here so we'll just get straight to it -- this instalment finds Tsuda still being made sorely wroth by his brother, and a heart-to-heart with Endou leads him to ruminate on some big questions. And this all can be found in:

Endou-kun no Jikken Note - Chapter 4

And that's all for now, please take care until we meet again~

FOUR MORE YEARS

Good evening!

So it's --to our utter amazement-- the group's fourth birthday today: when we were originally getting all this together probably none of us thought we'd manage four months before we ran out of steam. Anyway we'll spare you all a speech, seeing as you've had a couple already, but of course we should say that this is still all very enjoyable to do, our readers are extremely nice people and it's a continued privilege to be the conduit through which this excellent material is brought into the English language. And of course, if you've liked any of our titles, please do consider throwing the actual authors a few coins: all the tankobons we've covered should still be more or less available in the usual locations, and even if you can't understand the language the art's still a pleasure to look at (and best of all, it's free from all the vandalism we've done to it!) But anyway none of this is what you're here for, so:

we've got some new Nojiko as promised, and this here's an interesting one. We're not entirely sure what this is: it popped up in an issue of OnBlue late last year and was described there as being part of an "insect-themed collaborative work" (paraphrasing slightly), with this Nojiko story to be the first instalment. So this could be a oneshot, to be followed by other oneshots with similar subject-matter by other artists (or by Nojiko herself); or there could be a second chapter of this later, by Nojiko or by somebody else; or it could be something else entirely -- this is really kind of a mystery. If anybody in the comments can bring any wisdom here we'd be especially grateful, and of course we'll offer any clarifications we can obtain ourselves. But anyway here this is now, whatever it is, and, fair warning, this is some fucked-up content (though not much graphic, in Nojiko's usual fashion). Anyway she thought this was worth drawing so naturally we thought it was worth scanlating, even if it's a little weird, so without further ado:

Ten Ten Shiro Shiro [oneshot?]

And finally, something very exotic. The Udagawachou movie has been out for a little while on DVD, and it's, uh, -- our reaction to it has not been especially favourable, to put it mildly. But putting aside its quality (or otherwise, as the case may be), it's a live-action adaption of one of our scanlations, so we felt some vague obligation to do something with it. And so, in a departure from our usual fare, we've put together some subtitles(!!) to the thing, so you all can read along at home. Now we emphasise here that these are subtitles only: we don't want to attract any unwanted attention by actually uploading the movie (a more substantive form of piracy than regular old scanlation, we imagine) so you'll need to procure your own copy of that. But once you've gotten that worked out you can download these and affix them to the video (and we strongly exhort you google how to do this yourself -- we've unfortunately got nothing to offer in the way of tech support). Shouldn't be any adjustments needed to the timing, we hope. Anyway so please enjoy (and do please let us know your thoughts about the movie in the comments):

Wait for Me at Udagawachou - The Movie - English subs

And that draws this very long post to a close: we hope we'll still be at this for a long time yet -- and more immediately we hope we'll see you all again soon! Take care now~

(:。)ミ

Good evening!

An extremely belated happy new year to everybody -- great to see you all back with us for 2016. Anyway we hope we can start proceedings off on the right foot with some guys you won't have seen in a while - the original Kurayami dudes, returning for a brief oneshot. This was originally published about a million years ago but we've gotten around to it now, is the main thing! (...we're fervently hoping). Just 15 pages, so for a Nojiko thing it's short, but it's a cute little episode and we're happy to finally be able to bring it to youse all:

Kurayami no Shutter Speed

To get tedious for a second, this was published in Japan before Utsusemi ni Akari part 1, which we did a few months back. So with these two done we're back in the Japanese release order and the next thing we'll be bringing you in this series is Utsusemi ni Akari part 2, etc., and the story will go forward chronologically in the conventional manner (vide my rambling, incoherent explanation of all this in the post linked above).

Anyway that's all for now, we've got some good stuff currently underway so we hope you'll all stick around for that. Until next time, take it easy now~~

( ་ ⍸ ་ )

Good evening!

The gap between this chapter here of Endou-kun no Jikken Note and the previous one is almost certainly too long to be filled by any sort of excuse, so we'll simply apologise for the delay here and convey our very firm hope that we can, henceforth, get serious and deliver the remaining chapters in something resembling an expeditious manner. We thank all our followers for their extreme patience with this one. Anyway in this chapter Tsuda is wondering what secret Endou is keeping from him, and finds an answer he wasn't expecting. So please enjoy:

Endou-kun no Jikken Note - Chapter 3
[mediafire] [sendspace]
edit 29/11: minor fixes

And while we're here, a couple announcements:

1. Lenny is unfortunately too busy with her real life to finish the last two chapters (and whatever's in the tankobon) of Yoru to Asa no Uta. Other people in the group can pick up the slack with cleaning/typesetting but we're short of a translator, so if anybody out there wants to help us get this series over the line we'd be grateful to hear from you. Alright we've secured a translator and will finish this as soon as we can!!! Thanks to everybody.

2. Oyajina has unfortunately been licensed by the honourable people at DMG, meaning we'll need to drop it. Very sorry that we weren't able to get the first volume finished, and of course we encourage you to purchase the licensed version if you enjoyed the story and want to support the author.

Anyway that's all for now, we're expecting to have more things out soonish, so until we meet again~

(╥︣﹏᷅╥᷅)

Good evening!

Time tonight for another trip into the lives of Shouta, Daiki and the rest, as we bring you the next chapter of Y-Y-Y-Yoake ni Furu. In this chapter the guys explore their past and present feelings for each other, and Nojiko explores how much text she can cram onto a single page. Not really much else to say so we'll just get straight to it:

Yoake ni Furu - Chapter 5

We've noticed that some people seem to be having issues with Google Chrome blocking Sendspace downloads (I myself have been encountering this problem for a few weeks). If anybody has any idea what's going on here we'd be deeply obliged if you could sound off in the comments (or if you can confirm this is happening to other links and not just our own).

Anyway that's all for now, hope you all have a pleasant time until we meet again~

Y(-.-Y)

Good evening!

Two Nojikos in a row, you lucky people. Anyway tonight is something a little different - a short oneshot she released a few months back about a guy with three arms and his travails. Really not much else to say here so if you would please proceed in an orderly manner to the download links:

Ito mo Tayasuku [oneshot]
[ge.tt] | [sendspace]
Edit 03/09: Couple minor fixes.

And that's all for now! We wish you all a pleasant September and we'll see you again soon~

(*´゚д)(д゚`*)

Good evening!

Now, if you cast your mind back you will of course remember Kurayami ni Strobe, Nojiko's classic tale of photography, basketball, etc. And you'll also, no doubt, remember Juicebox and Glasses, who took a pretty marginal role in the story but then got to be the stars of their very own pair of oneshots at the end of 2013. And now, a couple years later, they're back for more!! Here's the link first of all, then a fuller sort of explanation follows.

Utsusemi ni Akari - Part 1

So yeah, Nojiko's drawing a few more chapters from the Kurayami well. There's three out so far, of which this is one (we, as ever, grovel abjectly for our slowness). Edit: I accidentally misled you all, sorry - pages 1-6 of this are a flashback which takes place immediately after Chapter 3 of Kurayami, and then the rest of the chapter comes after the two previous Glasses/Juicebox chapters. It's part 3 of the "secret room" story, basically. Whether Nojko is going for a full tankobon-sized story with the focus on Glasses and Juicebox we cannot tell: of the two other new chapters, one has the "Utsusemi ni Akari" title (and in this chapter Utsusemi is described as a "new series") but the other one has a different title and is entirely concentrated on the main Kurayami couple.* But anyway we'll release these as soon as we can and hopefully some clearer picture will emerge in due course.

Anyway if reading another chapter of Nojiko's beautiful yet strenuously chaste guys has you hungry for something a bit more explicit, you'll perhaps be happy to hear that we've also got the next Yoru to Asa no Uta ready. In this chapter the main dudes and the yakuza guy finally get to interact, and there's perhaps a man/man blowjob. For more details, please visit:

Yoru to Asa no Uta - Chapter 4

And that's all for now! Please all have a great time, until we meet again~

*This chapter actually came out in Japan before the one we're releasing here, but we didn't obtain scans of it until after we'd started working on this one. It'll be the next one to come out, and as the two chapters have no connection to each other there's no meaning lost by the order being switched around.

(・ε・`*)

Mommy's all right, daddy's all right, they just seem a little we-eird....

Good evening! Here's Chapter 4 of Yoake ni Furu. We pick up from where we left off in 2014 to find Shouta having a sleepover at Daiki's house. Will exciting things happen? It's a Nojiko manga so you already know the answer. Anyway we're sorry this took so long to get out and once again thank you all for your patience. Later parts to follow somewhat more quickly, we hope. But anyway,

Yoake ni Furu - Chapter 4

And now over to Lenny, who's got the next two parts of Yora to Asa no Uta. We follow the fallout of the events in Chapter 1 as blonde guy struggles with his sexuality, yakuza guy struggles with everything, and black hair guy continues to not say much. Hope you enjoy~

Yora to Asa no Uta - Chapter 2

Yora to Asa no Uta - Chapter 3

And that's all for now, hope you're all having a great summer and we hope to see you again soon!

。゚(゚`⊿゜)゚。

Good evening!

Nojiko returns, at long last. Tonight we've got the long-awaited third chapter of The Incredible Adventures of Watch Man and Clock Boy for your enjoyment. I'm sure a lot of you don't quite know what exactly to make of this series (and we're no different), but we can happily confirm that some stuff happens in this chapter, Nojiko's art is fabulous as always, and the dialogue is pretty sharp throughout. So please, come and take a look at:

Suna wo Kizamu Hari - Chapter 3

That's all the Nojiko for this post, but if you're hungry for more of her work you might, perhaps, want to head over to Tumblr, where some extremely mysterious, cool people have scanlated her recent bondage-themed oneshot. On the advice of our attorneys that's all we can say.

Finally we're of course extremely thrilled to hear that Udagawachou (of all things!) is getting a live-action movie. Will hopefully lead to Hideyoshico getting a bit more of the attention she very richly deserves. We'll see if we can pick up any stuff about it we can scan.

Anyway, have a good one and we'll see you all later~!

(n˘v˘•)¬

Good evening!

Alright tonight we've got the last part of Hayakawa Nojko's collection of original stories. Once again we follow a bunch of dudes around as they experience the fleeting, transient pleasures of high school life, tinged with a melancholic awareness that these carefree days will flourish, butterfly-like, for but a short time before they pass away forever. Or something. Anyway this chapter also features some special guest appearances from some characters you may know already, so please enjoy:

Hayakawa Nojiko original work - 8/32

Anyway, as mentioned, this is the final and most recent of Nojiko's original doujins, this one having been published in 2013. If there's a more recent one we are not presently aware of it (please correct us, if you can). And once again we'd like to thank the scanner for actually letting us know that this compilation existed, and of course for then going to the trouble of scanning it.

And that's all for now, please join us next time for whatever our next thing is. Until we meet again, have a good one.

❛ͬ˓˷❛ͬ

Good evening!

So here we are again - on a Wednesday, of all days. This feels as strange to us as it presumably does to you, don't worry. Anyway tonight we've got the next chapter of Suna wo Kizamu Hari for your reading pleasure. This one directly follows on from the previous chapter, and then we get to see Clock-kun and the other guy go out for a romantic(????) meal together. So please enjoy!

Suna wo Kizamu Hari - Chapter 2
[mediafire] | [sendspace]
Edit 28/09: Fixed a few typos

And that of course is all for now. Our next thing will be the final chapter of Hayakawa Nojiko's original stories, and hopefully we'll have that ready for you all in a week or so. So until then, have a good one.
